Saving energy in the home doesn’t have to be difficult.
As well as reducing your own CO2 footprint, you also save money!
- Use LED lamps: Replace conventional light bulbs with energy-efficient LED bulbs. These consume less electricity and have a longer service life.
- Switch off devices and do not leave them on standby: Switch off electronic devices completely when they are not in use. They continue to consume energy in standby mode.
- Purchase energy-efficient household appliances: When buying new appliances, pay attention to their energy efficiency class. Modern appliances are often more energy efficient and save costs in the long term.
- Ventilate and heat properly: Keep windows and doors closed when the heating is on and ventilate briefly but intensively to minimize heat loss.
- Set the thermostat correctly: Lower the room temperature in winter and raise it in summer to minimize energy consumption for heating and cooling.
- Save hot water: Shower instead of bathing and install water-saving taps. Reduce the temperature of the hot water to the necessary minimum.
- Use energy-saving mode for electrical appliances: Activate energy-saving mode on computers, televisions and other electronic devices to reduce energy consumption.
- Improve insulation: Check windows and doors for possible leaks and improve your home’s insulation to minimize heat loss.
- Optimize cooking habits: Use lids when cooking to reduce cooking time and choose the right pot size to save energy.
- Wash and dry laundryefficiently: Wash with a full load, use low temperatures and air dry the laundry or use an energy-efficient dryer.
